Italian Rice Pudding with Orange and Rum recipe

Italian food is always best served with a glass of wine or port, and this regional dessert is no exception.

Ingredients:

4 cups whole milk
½ cup Arborio rice
½ cup sugar
¼ cup raisins
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons rum
1 tablespoon orange zest

Directions:

1) Combine milk and rice in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook until rice is very soft, stirring frequently, about 30 minutes. Add remaining ingredients to rice; stir well. Simmer an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is very thick and creamy. Chill 4 hours.
