Brown Rice Pudding recipe
Have a healthier rice pudding by making it with brown rice. A bit extra fiber and protein make this tasty dessert a bit better for you to enjoy.
Ingredients:
4 cups whole milk
2 cups cooked brown rice
¼ cup raisins
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
Directions:
1) Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook until rice is very soft and liquid is mostly absorbed, about 45 to 60 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
